We are seeking a part-time gardener for the 2026 season. Our season begins in March and ends in December. Ideal candidate would be available 2-3 days a week. Daily tasks include planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, raking and deadheading of annuals and perennials. We do a mix of maintenance and design/installs. Ideally candidate will have their own vehicle to get to job sites throughout Southern RI, Newport, Middletown and Mystic, CT.

• Prior gardening experience or basic knowledge of horticultural practices and plant identification is preferred and willingness to participate in continuing education

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of outdoor garden work, including:

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

• Climbing in and out of truck beds approximately 3 feet off the ground

• Standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping for extended periods

• Shoveling soil, compost, mulch, and other heavy materials regularly

• Reaching above and below shoulder height for pruning and raking

• Safely using and gripping hand tools

• Working outdoors in varied weather conditions, including heat, light rain, and cold
